I created this piece in June of 2023 while staying in Vila Chã, Portugal, making art in the back of my rental AirBNB without explicit permission and using sunlight to dry everything.
The piece is inspired by a friend of mine who meditates, who shared this mantra with me of "what if it was easy?", a simple mind shift when going about your daily routines. The figure is me. I sent my dad the photo that I worked from on this, he suggested I paint it, and then I did. The eyes are green as a nod to him - everyone else in my family has brown eyes.
