I met Daiki and his father one night at a tiny bar on Matsudo's Bar Street. I opened the minivan-esque sliding door, and there they were. The bartender informed me that it was 2000 yen for all you can drink, so I did. We got to know each other, drank many beers, and when challenged I sang Sinatra's "New York, New York" off of the tiny karaoke screen. I learned they both owned restaurants.
The next day, insanely hungover, I rode the train five stops to where Daiki's ramen shop was. He made me a huge bowl, and the broth healed me.
